#togetherapart: Meet Ally
With the #TogetherApart initiative we have collected fun photos, videos, boomerangs and stories from you of your social distancing days and more – so we can all be #TogetherApart.
Hi – I’m Ally
I’m 16 years old
I’m a HAE patient
And I live in United States
I hope that HAE patients in the future:
have access to less painful medication.
The HAEi Youngsters’ Community is important because:
It allows me to fee connected with fellow kids fighting HAE and has made me feel less alone in this fight.
My favorite quote is:
“Just Keep Swimming”
‘Creating a Path to Better Health’ means:
Controlling the parts of your health that you can control.
This is my personal story:
HAE is one of my many diagnoses. I have always had episodes of swelling my whole life but none have been as severe as they have become the past 3 years. I was finally diagnosed in December of 2019 after being in the hospital for extreme throat, tongue, facial and abdominal swelling every month of 2019. Throughout all of this my main goal has always been to live my life as normal as possible. I have continued to go to school and have worked hard to maintain a 4.1 GPA. HAE will never get the best of me!
