#togetherapart: Meet Nathan
With the #TogetherApart initiative we have collected fun photos, videos, boomerangs and stories from you of your social distancing days and more – so we can all be #TogetherApart.
Hi – I’m Nathan
I’m 25 years old
I’m a Sibling of a HAE patient
And I live in Ecuador
I hope that HAE patients in the future:
can have free access to medication all around the world
The HAEi Youngsters’ Community is important because:
There’s youngsters wanting to support each other, wanting to advocate, to prepare as the leaders of the future. It’s a great place to connect with our HAE family.
My favorite quote is:
“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein
‘Creating a Path to Better Health’ means:
Advocate for the well-being of everyone. Giving the best of us researching, supporting, doing the thing that we’re good at to get to our goal of a Better Health.
This is my personal story:
Our big dream started here…
After meeting so many youngsters at the summer camp in Frankfurt, the dream of having an HAEi youngsters community started.
Proposing it to the HAEi organization, having meetings, and planning it was an incredible journey.
But it wasn’t just us, the youth advocacy team alone that made it possible. It was the excitement, the energy, the powerful bonding of the community. Hundreds of youngsters wanting to support each other, to connect. Hundreds of you youngsters wanting to advocate, to prepare as the leaders of the future.
In these two years, seeing how much it has grown, with more youngsters becoming active in the youth advocacy team, it gives us joy seeing how many youth have connected and gained comfort through this community.
Now, I couldn’t be more proud of being part of the HAEi youngsters.
