Learn, Experience, Advocate, and Pave the way
What is HAEi LEAP?
HAEi LEAP is an educational program developed by HAEi that allows young people to learn new skills and develop as individuals and advocates.
Young people then have the chance to gain experience working with their Member Organizations to apply those skills to a project to support advocacy, their Member Organization, and their community. Paving the way for future leaders.
Who is LEAP for?
HAEi LEAP starts with a 3-day in-person seminar in mid-April 2024, followed by a 14-week program of online and virtual learning, and it’s for youngsters in the global HAE community. They should be:
- Someone with HAE – a caregiver or a family member
- Aged between 16 and 25
- A member of your organization (of course!)
- And able to travel on their own
What should I start thinking about?
Young people and their Member Organizations need to apply for the program together. You should start thinking about a project that the young person could work on. We will ask both the young person and their Member Organization to add a few details about the project idea in the application form.
After graduation, you will have the chance to put your new skills into practice by working on the project with your Member Organization. And, to help you deliver the project, HAEi will provide a one-time monetary grant to HAEi LEAP graduate Member Organizations.
